A second method of interpretation is called the allegorical approach. We bring forth the resources needed to support a growing population and to increase the productivity of creation. Our work can either preserve or destroy the clean air, water, and land, the biodiversity, the ecosystems, and biomes, and even the climate with which God has blessed his creation.

But with disobedience came a lack of blessing. It is through this covenant that God works to reestablish His relationship with, not all mankind, but only with those whom He chooses.

Divine judgment Divine judgment, as discussed above in considering God and judgment, is clearly a major theological theme in Genesis.

It is easy to assume from such pervasive perspectives that this is really how the world is, and how things really work. It really raises the same question that was raised back in the Adam and Eve story. Even when we try to be united, if the basis of that unity is only ourselves and our own ambitions and goals, we will find that we cannot even communicate adequately.

God vows never to destroy the earth again, and he designates the rainbow to be a symbol of his covenant. It is a tragic consequence of the Fall Gen. This is a clear indication that this was a unilateral covenant in which God unconditionally guaranteed that His promises to Abraham would be fulfilled.

Lastly, world order is seen in God's action to bless His creatures man and animaland in His decree that they should all be fruitful and multiply filling the earth and the seas. First, I do not think this issue is within the primary thrust of the book.

The last division of Genesis, chapterscan be remembered by its four main characters: Those particular phenomena were likely for the inauguration of the church in the world. God promises that from this new fertile earth will follow an equally fertile lineage for Noah and his family.

And yet this text finds the people unified around a common goal with the fear that they will be scattered. Closely related to the allegorical method of interpretation is the typological approach.
